22ND AUGUST 2017 – BRICK & LIQUOR – CLAPHAM
Following the successful launch of their first site in Tooting Broadway, in October 2016, hospitality entrepreneur David Layton, is opening a second site in Clapham South on Friday August 25th.
Brick & Liquor offers a bustling neighbourhood cocktail bar concept, serving creative cocktail creations alongside their ‘Social Eats’ menu of sharing plates. The 100-capacity Clapham bar will be larger than the teams first Tooting site, whilst still retaining an intimate atmosphere and table service throughout.
The design is an aesthetic nod towards Manhattan’s East Village, decorated with warm colours, featuring an exposed brick wall, reclaimed wood panelling, along with brass fixtures, fittings and modern pendent lighting. Even the bar utensils are of a rustic copper colour and the main feature and focal point will be the solid steel, double tiered feature bar.
The cocktail menu includes some classics, but with a thoughtful twist – such as ‘Salted Caramel Espresso Martini’, alongside some unique creations such as the ‘Nine & A Half Weeks’ a blend of Havana 3 rum, orange curacao, white vermouth and orange bitters, aged for nine and a half weeks within a merlot and IPA conditioned oak cask – WOW!
Brick & Liquors ‘Social Eats’ menu consists of finger friendly sharing plates, with small dishes all priced at £6 and large at £9. The menu takes influence from Europe and Asia, with popular dishes such as ‘Chorizo Arancini’, which are hand crumbed risotto croquettes, stuffed with gooey mozzarella and served with white truffle mayo. They sound delicious and we can’t wait to try them.
There will also be a brunch menu served on weekends, alongside the famous Bloody Mary and prosecco cocktails, ensuring the venue keeps its vibrant atmosphere throughout the day.
The founder of Brick & Liquor, David Layton is very excited about his second venue in Clapham and told us that:
“The BRICK & LIQUOR concept has been hugely successful in our first location in Tooting Broadway and we’re hoping to replicate that success again in Clapham. We’re proud to offer a level of hospitality rarely found outside the centre, and we’re constantly on the lookout for new communities where we could make a great addition.”
The new Brick & Liquor in Clapham will be opening for a soft launch and bookings only evening on Thursday 24th August and they are offering a free cocktail to everyone that books in advance. So don’t delay get in touch with them now and make sure you have a spot for the up and coming opening night. We will sure to see you at the bar! Email to Clapham@brickandliquor.co.uk.
